Water gel explosives tend to be less toxic and are less hazardous than dynamite to manufacture, transport, and store.Water gels are also less expensive than conventional explosives. Because they are relatively safe and easy to use, they are often used in the mining industry. There are many different types of water gel explosives for use in different situations. One type, a small diameter slurry explosive, can be used specifically for blasting in coal undercut, midcut, and depillaring areas. They are preferable to nitroglycerin-based explosives like dynamite because they produce less noxious fumes. Detagel, which is very high in strength, is a specific example of a small diameter water gel explosive that is used for mining activities.Water gel explosives are frequently used as cartridge explosives because they are much easier to load into large casings. With water gel explosives, the slurry material can simply be poured into the casing. Traditional explosives are cast into the casing. This process is laborious and the charge may begin to shrink, creating multiple voids. A final advantage of slurry is that it can be stored in non-explosive component form and sensitized into field-manufactured explosive as it is needed. The explosive may be sensitized by the addition of gas, metal powder, or another explosive such as TNT, RDX, HMX, or PETN. The water in water gel explosives is converted into a reactant by the addition of large amounts of aluminum.
Identifying the need of customers for ease and safety of handling explosives, we developed water gel bulk loading truck for charging explosives at the point of usage.We are manufacturing Water Gel Charging System Truck for charging of Bulk Explosives on mining sites.
All these units are mounted on trucks, having capacities ranging from 5 – 15 tons. The Units are fabricated on skid & the skids are mounted on truck chassis.
The system consists of truck mounted storage and processing equipment for carrying ingredients from base plant and mixing the ingredients at the site in required proportion.They are pumped out as final product at the point of use.The system design permits addition of various additives such as sensetisers, gassing agents etc.as per process requirements.
The system is powered by Hydraulics. The hydraulic drive is powered by the truck internal combustion engine through a power take-off shaft. The system design ensures safety of operation and flexibility of process control parameters such as products, proportions & discharge rate.The final product after processing ingredients is pumped directly into the drilled holes in the mines through an anti static hose which is wound on a Hose Reel fitted on the pump truck.
The Hose can be immersed right upto the entire depth of mine hole and subsequent withdrawal rate and charging rate can be pre programmed. This facility ensures even charging of explosive and avoids agglomeration at the bottom of pit. Thus ensuring optimum usage of explosive.
The entire module is designed in such a fashion to ensure easy mobility and safe maneuverability of fully loaded truck absolutely keeping in mind norms of road safety and regulations.
